PM Modi biopic gets green signal from Supreme Court
Election Commission of the Supreme Court
EC decides whether violation of code of conduct is violated by film release
new Delhi. The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the petition seeking the ban on the release of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's biopic 'PM Narendra Modi'. The court said that the appropriate institution to solve the petitioner's concern is the Election Commission, because it is a constitutional body. The Election Commission should decide that in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, during the election of the film, there is no leaning for the benefit or any particular political part.
The court refused to see the film's trailer
Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that the certificate has yet to be given to the film. He asked the Commission to take a decision on how the film could affect the upcoming elections and can benefit the political party for a particular political party. Dismissing the pleas of the petitioner's lawyer, the court said that the film has not yet been released.

Earlier, hearing the petition on Monday, the apex court had asked the petitioner Aman Panwar to first clarify what has been shown in the film and what objection he has.
