New Delhi | Jet Airways has suspended all its flights. The company flew its last flight at 10.30 pm last night, which was from Amritsar to Mumbai. The decision to discontinue Jet Airways flights has taken the minimum interim fund of Operations failing to raise Rs. 400 crore.

The job threat of 22 thousand people

If the company closes, the employment of 22 thousand people will be lost. The employees have already performed similar demonstrations in Mumbai where the company is headquartered. It may be noted that the company which has suffered a loss of Rs. 4,244 crore in the last calendar year has not paid salaries to pilots, maintenance engineers and senior management officers since January. Other employees were being given partial salaries, but they also have not received the March salary so far.

Could not raise 400 crore

The financial crisis-battling Jet Airways (Jet Airways) had temporarily demanded an interim fund of Rs 400 crore from lenders to close the company. According to sources, the company could not raise the money. The jet has reduced the current operating fleet to five aircraft. According to Civil Aviation secretary Pradeep Singh Scratch, the airline conducted only five planes on Tuesday, while the number was seven a day earlier. Under the extant rules, an airline needs to operate at least five aircraft to carry out its air operations permits.

Demonstration at Jantar Mansur on Thursday
